How to empower your public speaking skills ?

10 tips to empower your public speaking skills

There is much more to learn about public speaking than anyone could ever imagine. You can watch talk shows, public speaking clubs, radio programs, and regular conversations; certain rules still apply when it comes to engagement through words. I know it might sound a bit tedious, yet even though your mouth is doing most of the work, your brain operates twice as hard to produce out everything you know. So, what better way to begin learning to communicate effectively than getting to know the closest person to you: yourself?. Here are some self-centered strategies that can help you improve your communication and become a better public speaker.

1- Applying your knowledge

Education revolves around learning the fundamentals, but becoming an effective public speaker requires bringing what you have learned into the field of practice. My experience as a tutor working with various students from all over the world has taught me that while we all have limitations, we can learn how to keep up and convey what we know

2- Listening to your voice

It is equally important to asking questions. Listening to the sound of our personal voice often can teach us to be a bit more confident of ourselves during a public speaking and to say what we believe in with conviction

3 - Sincerity

We all make mistakes, and occasionally we slur our words, stutter, and most likely mispronounce some phrases even if we know what they mean, but we rarely utilize it to impress listeners. So, if you're in a group, don't be afraid to question if you're saying the right word correctly, and if they're unsure, make a joke about it. That will undoubtedly make everyone laugh, and you will be able to get away with it as well.

4- Eye contact

When it comes to directing your attention to your audience with an arresting stare  during a public speech  , there's a lot to discuss. Even if he or she is stunning, it is crucial that you maintain your concentration when addressing a large audience in a gathering or meeting.

5- A sense of humor

When delivering a public speech, a slight touch of comedy may help to relieve stress or, worse, boredom. This way, you'll capture the bulk of the audience's attention and make them believe that you're equally as approachable and human to those who listen

6- Acquire from others

Communication is all about interacting with others. You'll acquire a variety of concepts as well as realize why things are the way they are.

7- Being cheerful

A smiling face, like eye contact, says it all. Unless it is a grave, there's no point on grimacing or frowning in a public speech, meeting or gathering. When you grin, you can better express what you're saying.

8- A role model

You surely must have listened to at least one or two persons in your life as they were giving a public speech. They read their lines, however paying close attention to how they powerfully emphasize what they are saying might benefit you once you are on stage

9- Preparation

Make the best out of your preparation instead of merely jotting notes in a rush. Some people prefer to write things down on index cards, while others find it more amusing when they look at their notes scrawled on the palm of their hands (not for sweaty hands, please). Simply be at ease with what you know since you enjoy your profession.

10- Practice

I'm sure you do sing to yourself when bathing!. Listening to the sound of your own voice while practicing your public speech in front of a mirror will help you adjust your pitch's stress spots. You may even freshen up while you're doing it

That basically sums it up. These tips may seem unprofessional on the surface, but I've learned to empower myself regarding public and private speaking, and it never fails to be around others and listen to how they make talks and meetings way more entertaining and enlightening as well.
